Proposal at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary | Alex and Edward

Proposal at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary | Alex and Edward

I hope you are ready for a good story and some of my favorite images in history. Okay, are you ready? Let's talk about a surprise proposal at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary. I'll do my best to sum it up, but it's a doozy!

One afternoon I checked my email and had a new one from this guy named Edward, he let me know his girlfriend has been following me for years, she adores my work and my latest adventure sessions. He had the idea of booking me for an 'adventure session' and proposing to his fiance during our session at Hawk Mountain sanctuary. Sounds like a dream, doesn't it? It gets better. He asks me to do a pretend giveaway that I would essentially pick his fiance Alex as the winner and we'd take this proposal to the actual next level.

I agreed, because how the heck could I not? So, I set up the giveaway at Hawk Mountain, made graphics and posted it to instagram. Who's one of the first three to enter? Sweet sweet Alex. I was about to cry! Because little did this girl know that she was already selected as the winner and was going to be proposed to during our session at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary!

So, A week goes by and I select her, I DM her that she won and she's freaking out! We pick some dates and start planning an EPIC adventure session at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary. She has ZERO clue, I am emailing Edward on the side giving him all the details for him and their family to also be at Hawk Mountain During the session and hiding.. ect. It was going to be EPIC, and let me tell you.. IT WAS EPIC.

Weeks later the engagement session date arrives, I'm texting Alex how excited I am and emailing Edward everything that we've been secretly planning. Aka: her family hiding in the woods, musicians in the background.. everything. The night came and I had goosebumps and was shaking the whole time because I was so excited. I met with Alex's family early to hide them in the woods with cute little signs and then walked down to meet Alex and Edward and the session began!

We walked right up to the south lookout at Hawk mountain, talked, hugged and she raved how excited she was to finally win an adventure session with me and it was incredible. Alex had no idea while we were doing her session with Edward that her family was hiding in the field and the musicians on top of the mountain were playing not just for fun, but for her.

We laughed. They danced, kissed and shared all the sweet moments together. 30 minutes into the session, Edward yelled the signal word of how hot it was and the music got louder, and Alex turned around and her mouth about dropped to the floor as she saw her entire family standing behind us with signs that say will you marry me! Edward gets on one knee, and it was the most magical experience of my life. I truly had goosebumps on my arms and tears running down my cheek. It was incredible and such an honor to be a part of.

I hope you can't get enough of this adventure engagement session at Hawk mountain sanctuary, because I really, really can't!
